Room Magazine, Canada's oldest feminist literary journal, is accepting entries for its annual 2026 Fiction Contest. Judged by acclaimed writer and editor Terese Mason Pierre, the competition seeks outstanding, unpublished short stories ranging from 1,000 to 3,500 words from writers of marginalized genders worldwide.

Eligibility evidenceThe competition targets marginalized and underrepresented genders globally. According to the official Room Magazine Contest Guidelines, the publication "showcases writing and art by women (cisgender and transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people."
