The Silver Lake Shorts Filmmaker Fellowship is a non-profit career development program designed to fund independent voices making bold, short-form cinema. The initiative provides seven California-based filmmakers with a $5,000 production grant, professional creative mentorship, and a platform to screen their completed 1-to-5 minute animated or live-action shorts.

The funding pool targets specific regional constraints and runtime limits. According to the Silver Lake Shorts Fellowship Rules, the program is: "Open only to California residents. Each filmmaker receives $5,000 per film... The film should be roughly 1–5 minutes in length and all films must be completed within one year of receiving the grant."
